WIC is a
nutrition program
that helps mothers

healthy.
What can I
get from WIC?
- Special
checks called
vouchers to buy
healthy foods.
- Nutrition and
health education
to help you and
your family eat
well and be
healthy.
- Personal
counseling about
nutrition.
- Support and
help with
breastfeeding.
- Referrals to
health care and
other kinds of
help for you and
your family.
Who is
WIC for?
WIC is for women
who are pregnant or
breastfeeding,
infants and young
children who have
nutritional need
for the program.
What are the
requirements for
WIC?
- Women must be
pregnant,
breastfeeding, or
have recently
delivered a baby.
- A child must
be under five
years of age.
- Participants
must also:
- Regular
medical
assessments.
- Be
determined at
nutritional
risk by a
health
professional.
- Meet income
guidelines.
- Reside in a
local agency's
service area.
How do I
apply for WIC?
When applying
for WIC, please
bring:
- Proof of
residence
- Proof of
income
- Medical form
from your doctor
- Social
Security Number
If you are
eligible, you will
receive:
- A nutritional
evaluation
- Nutrition
education -
Individual and
classes
- Food vouchers
for:
- Milk
- Cheese
- Cereal
- Eggs and
beans or peanut
butter
- Juice
WIC is open by
appointment on
Tuesdays from 8:30
AM - 3:30 PM, and
Fridays from 8:30
AM - 4:30 PM.
