Richard W. Matens, M.Div., Executive Director
Mr. Matens has worked in the field of Human Services Administration since 1990, specializing in effective health & human service program development, implementation and evaluation for traditionally underserved communities. His expertise is focused in the development, administration and evaluation of education, health, social service and research-related programs. He has been a consultant for local, state and federal initiatives covering a variety of public health and training programs focusing on HIV/AIDS, health profession training, substance abuse, cardiovascular disease, and cultural competence. Mr. Matens holds a Masters from Notre Dame School of Theology in New Orleans and a Bachelors of Arts from the University of St. Thomas in Houston. He also earned a Certificate in Local County Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Richard Nakamura, Finance Director
Mr. Nakamura is an executive level Fiscal Officer with over 30 years of experience in the healthcare field. Richard has worked across a wide spectrum of venues from academic institutions to in-patient hospitals to non-profit clinics in northern California. Richard most recent tenure was as Chief Financial Officer of Brighter Beginnings FQHC. His previous professional experience includes, but is not limited to, the following: Chief Financial Officer for Doctors’ Hospital of West Covina, Controller for Stanford University Family Practice Clinics, and Accounting Manager for Kaiser Permanente. Richard received his Bachelors of Science in Accounting, Finance and Marketing from the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business. He is a former Board Member of the Association of California Healthcare Districts and is a current member of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) and the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).
